Adjusting Bass and Treble
You can use BASS +/– or TREBLE +/– buttons to adjust the low and high frequencies for each individual set of
speakers. If the receiver is in STEREO mode you can only adjust the FRONT speakers. In a surround mode
(STANDARD, ADVANCED THEATER, etc.) you can adjust the FRONT, CENTER, SURROUND and SURROUND
BACK speakers. The TONE button can also be used to bypass the tone circuitry (see p.22).
1 Press the TONE button on the front panel to
put the receiver in tone on mode.
2 Press the CHANNEL SELECT button on the
front panel to cycle through the different
tone adjust modes.
The button cycles though the possibilities in the following
order:
TONE Front TONE Center
TONE SurBack TONE Surr.
3 Use the BASS or TREBLE (+/–) buttons to
adjust the low or high frequencies of each
channel.

A few seconds after you finish adjusting the tone the receiver will
revert to the sound mode it was in at the beginning of the
process.
The tone control can be adjusted in a range of ±6 dB.
The tone control cannot be adjusted in MULTI CH IN mode.
If the receiver is in DIRECT mode and you press the TONE
button, TONE BYPASS will appear in the display, letting you
know that you can't change the tone in DIRECT mode.
Another press cancels DIRECT mode.
