17 CM COAXIAL 2-WAY SPEAKERS
ROCK-SOLID SPEAKER CONES
To create the TS-E speakers’ extremely rigid speaker cones, Basalt Fibres
are interwoven with Aramid Fibres at opposing angles and placed into the
mould just before the foamed IMPP™ is injected. As the foamed IMPP™
hardens, it fuses to the Basalt Fibres, creating a one-piece cone. Basalt
Fibre is created by melting pulverised volcanic Basalt rock at over 1480°C
and then drawing it into long, thin bres. Thanks to the characteristics
of these Basalt Fibres, Pioneer has been able to develop a speaker that
is lightweight, super-strong, well-damped, stable in extreme temperatures,
and environmentally-friendly.
