Custom Enclosure Boxes
These Champion Series subwoofers are pedigrees
of the record-breaking, professional SPL Competition Class
power subs. By combining some leading technologies,
such as an Interlaced Carbon Fibre reinforced IMPP™
double cone, a wide-roll 3-layer fibre woven radial surround
and powerful double-stacked magnets, these competition
class SPL subwoofers are a perfect match for Pioneer’s
SPL amplifiers. The result is quite staggering: lean and mean
audio output of the highest standards.

A SPECTACULAR REDUCTION IN ENCLOSURE VOLUME
In the past, because stronger magnet materials were
not available, a fairly large magnetic circuit was required,
which contributed to big enclosure volumes. Thanks to
the development of stronger magnet material, it is now possible to create
a small-sized magnetic circuit with increased magnetic force. This has
helped to reduce enclosure volumes.
Additionally, several innovative technologies and the use of different
materials have enabled us to develop the Air Suspension System. First used
in Pioneer’s Shallow-type subwoofers, the Air Suspension System uses
two different-sized cones – a drive cone and an upper cone. The drive
cone works as a small-sized speaker in an enclosure, while the upper
cone delivers the sound pressure, combining the best of both worlds.
This has allowed for a substantial reduction in the recommended
enclosure
volume to ever smaller dimensions without affecting the tight
bass reproduction.
