Cautions for the battery pack

DANGER

! Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly re-

placed. Replace only with the same or equiva-

lent type.

! Keep the battery pack out of the reach of

small children to prevent them from acciden-

tally swallowing it.

! Do not use a damaged or leaking battery

pack.

In the event of battery leakage, wipe the bat-

tery pack completely clean and replace it with

a new battery.

! Do not subject the battery pack to shock or

impact.

! Be sure to use only the supplied battery pack

with this product. Use of another battery is

dangerous and could result in malfunction.

! Do not handle the battery with metallic tools.

Do not store the battery with metallic materi-

als.

! Do not store the battery pack in high tempera-

tures or direct sunlight.

! When disposing of used batteries, please

comply with governmental regulations or en-

vironmental public institutions’ rules that

apply in your country/area.

Additional supplement

p The operating temperature range of the bat-

tery is from 0 °C to +55 °C.

p The charging temperature range of the bat-

tery is from –20 °C to +60 °C.

Charging cannot be done when the tem-

perature is outside of the charging tem-

perature range.

p The battery lifetime is limited. Charged bat-

tery duration will decrease with repetitive

charging. If the battery duration is extre-

mely short, it may be near the end of bat-

tery life span. Consult your dealer or the

nearest authorized Pioneer Service Station

and replace it with a new battery pack.

p If you see the following indications, a repla-

cement battery may be needed.

Pioneer Service Station.

— When you use the detachable device re-

moved from the head unit, the battery

runs out more rapidly than before.

— The message “Preparing to start up

system...please wait” is frequently dis-

played after start-up.
