AAC

AAC is short for Advanced Audio Coding and

refers to an audio compression technology

standard used with MPEG-2 and MPEG-4.

Several applications can be used to encode

AAC files, but file formats and extensions

differ depending on the application which is

used to encode. This unit plays back AAC files

encoded by iTunes.

JPEG picture files

JPEG is short for Joint Photographic Experts

Group and refers to a still image compression

technology standard.

• Files are compatible with Baseline JPEG

and EXIF 2.1 still images up to a resolution

of 4 092 × 4 092. (EXIF format is used most

commonly with digital still cameras.)

• Playback of EXIF format files that were

processed by a computer may not be

possible.

• There is no progressive JPEG

compatibility.

❒ When naming a JPEG image file, add the

corresponding file name extension (.jpg, or

.jpeg).

❒ This unit plays back files with these file

name extensions (.jpg, or .jpeg) as a JPEG

image file. To prevent malfunctions, do not

use these extensions for files other than

JPEG image files.

! CAUTION

• Pioneer accepts no responsibility for data

lost from an iPod, even if that data is lost

while using the navigation system. Please

back up your iPod data regularly.

• Do not leave the iPod in direct sunlight for

extended amounts of time. Extended

exposure to direct sunlight can result in

iPod malfunction due to the resulting high

temperature.

• Do not leave the iPod in any location with

high temperatures.

• Firmly secure the iPod when driving. Do not

let the iPod fall onto the floor, where it may

become jammed under the brake or

accelerator pedal.

“Made for iPod” and “Made for iPhone” mean

that an electronic accessory has been

designed to connect specifically to iPod or

iPhone, respectively, and has been certified

by the developer to meet Apple performance

standards.
